Good Morning Elmdon Residents,
Please find below your crime updates and good news for this past set which has been very busy due to Halloween events and the half term holidays.
Neighbourhood Crime Updates: In the early hours of 26/10/26, there was an attempted theft of motor vehicle on COPHAMS CLOSE where 3 unknown males on electric bikes have gained entry to a FORD RANGER and tried to steal it before being scared away by the homeowner. This investigation is ongoing.
In the afternoon of 26/10/26, there was an attempted theft of pedal cycle where a number of youths have tried to steal a person's bike before making good their escape along LODE LANE.
Throughout this past set on various occasions, unknown youths have been kicking in gates along the alleyway at the back of LEAFIELD ROAD causing damage. We have so far been unable to identify the offenders due to it being an alleyway with no cameras, but we have increased our foot patrols in this area to deter this activity and catch anyone involved in this offence alongside providing reassurance to residents.
In the afternoon of 30/10/26, there was a burglary along VALLEY ROAD where unknown offenders have broken into the address through a small bathroom window on the first floor and stolen various items. This investigation is ongoing and we would like to thank VALLEY ROAD residents who have assisted us so far with CCTV enquiries.
Overnight between 25-26/10/26 there was a theft from motor vehicle offence along INCHFORD ROAD where unknown offenders have stolen various items from a parked and locked vehicle by using keyless entry means. We encourage the use of faraday pouches to block keyless entry thieves and continue to use additional after market security measures such as trackers and steering wheel locks.
Overnight on 01/11/26, there was a theft of motor vehicle on VALLEY ROAD where unknown offenders have stolen a BMW 220D via keyless means. This investigation is ongoing.
Good News: The team were able to finally shut down a problem property on the patch this week. After months of working with the council a flat which was being frequented by drug users, drug dealers, anti-social youths and more has been boarded up and had the locks changed awaiting refurbishment and a new, hopefully law-abiding tenant moving in. The former occupant caused numerous issues for local residents and ourselves and multiple calls to service.
The team have been out and about on dedicated tasking around the anti-social behaviour and the use of fireworks in public spaces during the Halloween period. We have been responding to the calls as they have landed and been proactive in tackling the issues based upon the information kindly provided by the community.
The team have been staying on after late shifts again to keep on top of the area’s vehicle crime, a number of suspect vehicles were pulled over and, checked and search. With one car found full of used drug paraphernalia and action taken against the driver. A suspect male was stopped in the early hours and checked after being believed to be have been involved in break ins in the area.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and we will update you again soon. Regards,
